Servos for Liberal Arts Majors Presented by Rich Bryan

What are Servos? Servo motors are used for precisely controlling the speed, position, and acceleration of mechanical systems, especially in applications that require accurate and repeatable movements. They're commonly found in robotics, industrial automation, aerospace, and even smaller applications like radio-controlled models.

Just because one does not have a computer science or engineering degree does not mean creating custom animatronics using servos is out of reach. This class will be a basic introduction on what a servo is, and how to use and control one. The discussion will include differences between a hobby servo and “regular” motors, servo hardware, servo control boards and where to purchase them, programming servos for movement/speech and of course demonstrations of a 3 axis skull. If I can figure out how to do this with a Poly Sci degree from a state school anyone can!

  Back by Popular Demand!

Last year's class was a total hit, and we’re thrilled to bring back this creative crafting class! Join the incredibly talented Kim Cook for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to carve your very own FUN TIKI Noodle.

Using colorful pool noodles, you’ll turn simple materials into vibrant tiki carvings that are perfect for parties and decorations. Whether you're crafty or just curious, this class is full of laughs and good for any ability level.

In this class you will be provided with all of the necessary supplies, templates, and instructions to make and take home your own Fun Noodle Tiki! There will be a small fee to cover the cost of materials for this crafting class. We will announce when the crafting seminars go on sale around mid-August.

We're hard at work adding some more great seminars and crafting classes for you!
